In the 10KV (6KV) distribution network of the power system, tubular lightning arresters were commonly used as a measure to protect lines and distribution transformers from lightning strikes. In recent years, with the development of lightning arrester technology, due to the obvious advantages of zinc oxide lightning arresters, zinc oxide lightning arresters have gradually replaced other types of lightning arresters and have been widely used.
The 10KV distribution network is the most complex link in the power line structure and usage environment of the power grid. For a large number of distribution transformers and cable lines, lightning arresters must be installed as lightning protection. Therefore, the probability of lightning arrester failure is relatively high in 10KV distribution networks. If a lightning arrester fails in a 10KV distribution network, the main hazards are as follows:
1. If the lightning arrester is not completely broken down, the leakage of the lightning arrester will increase, which will cause an increase in line loss and is not conducive to the economic operation of the power grid.
2. If the lightning arrester is broken down, causing a grounding fault, as the lightning arrester fault is an invisible fault, it requires a lot of manpower and material reseries resonances to find the fault point; If two lightning arresters are grounded in different phases, it will cause the switch protection to operate and result in power outages for users, affecting production and daily life.
3. The explosion of lightning arrester will affect other surrounding equipment, causing the accident to escalate. Therefore, the safety assessment of the power system has raised the detection of lightning arresters in the distribution system to the same level as that of lightning arresters in power plants and substations. Article 14.2 of the Preventive Testing Regulations for Power Equipment specifies the DC testing of metal oxide surge arresters.
In response to the characteristics of the 10KV power grid, Wuhan Huatian Power has developed an HTYB type zinc oxide lightning arrester field tester specifically designed for 10KV (or 6KV) distribution networks. The instrument has the following features:
1. On site testing of lightning arresters does not require a power outage on the line, as long as the drop out fuse (Ling Ke) is disconnected.
2. When measuring the voltage U1mA at 1mA, the instrument can also obtain the leakage current value at 0.75U1mA, making the operation very simple.
3. Equipped with a rechargeable power supply, it overcomes the difficulty of having no AC power supply on site in most cases.
In summary, the zinc oxide lightning arrester on-site tester is the best choice for testing zinc oxide lightning arresters in distribution networks, playing an important role in the economic and safe operation of distribution networks and improving the reliability of power supply.
