Selection techniques for series resonance

HV Hipot Electric Co., Ltd. specializes in producing series resonance devices (also known as variable frequency series resonance devices). Do you know the selection techniques for series resonance?

Series resonance is widely used in high-voltage testing. When selecting series resonance, multiple factors need to be considered comprehensively, and the complexity is even more frustrating for many users. Next, Musen Electric will teach you a few to make HV Hipot Electric Co., Ltd. choice easy.

What are the main types of test subjects for series resonance selection? (For example, cables, main transformers, transformers, switches, generators, etc.), these test samples are divided into different voltage levels. For example, the selection parameters are 108kVA/108kV frequency modulation resonance device, which can meet the following tests:

1. 10kV cable with a cross-sectional area of 300 square meters, capable of meeting a length of 2km

2. 35kV cable with a cross-sectional area of 300 square meters, capable of meeting a length of 1km

3. 35kV main transformer 40000 kVA and  below

4. All transformers and switch tests in the 35kV system

Equipment configuration for series resonance selection: one main frequency converter (7.5kW), one 7.5kW excitation transformer, fHV Hipot Electric Co., Ltd. 27kVA/27kV reactors, one 1500p compensation capacitor, and one 110kV capacitive voltage divider.

Combination requirements for series resonance test; When making a 10kV cable with a length of 2km, 4 reactors are connected in parallel, with a test voltage of 22kV and a maximum current of 4A. When making a 35kV cable with a length of 1km, 4 reactors are connected in two series and two parallel, with a maximum output voltage of 54kV and a maximum current of 2A. When testing the 35kV main transformer, switch, and transformer, all 4 reactors are connected in series, with a maximum output voltage of 108kV and a maximum current of 1A.
