Operation time limit of series resonant reactor

HV Hipot Electric Co., Ltd. specializes in producing series resonance (also known as power frequency withstand voltage test equipment). Next, we will share with you an explanation of the operating time limit of series resonance reactors.

The working system (or operating time limit) T specified on the nameplate or user manual of a series resonant reactor generally refers to the maximum continuous working time of the reactor at rated load and rated voltage under ambient temperature of 40 ℃. At this point, the oscillation frequency reaches the rated minimum operating frequency fe, and the current reaches the rated value le.

However, during on-site testing, the reactor usually does not operate at its rated state. As a result, the actual maximum continuous operating time of the reactor in a single operation may far exceed T. The actual operating time depends on the actual resonant frequency and test voltage U during the test. At this time, the actual continuous operating time t can be calculated according to the following formula:

t=T*f2*Ue2/fe2**U2
