Advantage 1: The required power capacity for testing is greatly reduced. Due to the fact that the power supply of the series resonant withstand voltage testing equipment uses the resonance of the resonant reactor and the capacitance of the tested product to generate high voltage and high current, the power supply only needs to provide a portion of the voltage in the testing system. The active power consumption in the testing system greatly reduces the required power capacity for testing.  

Advantage 2: Greatly reduces the weight and volume of the entire testing equipment. Reducing the power capacity of the equipment eliminates the need for large and medium-sized high-power voltage regulators, as well as ordinary high-power frequency test transformers. Therefore, the volume and weight of the entire device have been greatly reduced.  

Advantage 3: Improved the waveform of the device’s output voltage. Due to the device, the resonant power supply is a resonant filtering circuit, which not only improves the waveform distortion of the output voltage and obtains a good sine waveform, but also plays an important role in preventing false breakdown of the test product. Advantage 4: It is possible to prevent large short-circuit currents from burning out the fault point. When the testing equipment is in series resonance state, when the weak point of the insulation of the testing product is broken down, the circuit will immediately lose resonance, and the loop current will quickly drop to 1/Q of the normal testing current. However, if parallel resonance or testing transformer is used for voltage withstand testing, the breakdown current will immediately increase by tens of times. Two different testing methods show us that the short-circuit current and breakdown current differ by hundreds of times. Therefore, series resonance can effectively detect weak insulation points and there is no need to worry about excessive short-circuit current burning out the fault point.  

Advantage 5: The testing equipment will not have any form of overvoltage recovery. When breakdown occurs during testing, due to the loss of resonance conditions, the high voltage immediately disappears, the arc immediately extinguishes, and the reconstruction process of restoring voltage is very long. This test is very easy to disconnect the power supply before reaching the flashover voltage again. During the recovery process, there is an intermittent energy accumulation oscillation that is long and does not result in overvoltage recovery.
