HV Hipot Electric Co., Ltd. specializes in producing series resonance (also known as series resonance withstand voltage equipment). Next, we will share with you the advantages of series resonance withstand voltage equipment.
The following are some advantages of series resonant withstand voltage equipment in power system applications:
1. The required power system capacity can be greatly reduced. The frequency conversion series resonant device uses the resonant reactor and capacitor of the test product to generate high voltage and high current through resonance. In the entire system, the power supply only needs to provide a portion of the active power consumed in the system. Therefore, the required power supply for testing is only 1/Q of the testing capacity.
2. Improve the waveform of the output working voltage of the enterprise. A resonant power supply is a resonant filtering circuit that can improve the distortion of the output voltage waveform, obtain a good sine waveform, and effectively prevent the breakdown of the harmonic peak value of the sample.
3. The weight and volume of the equipment can be greatly increased or decreased. The series resonant power supply not only eliminates the need for bulky high-power voltage regulating devices and ordinary high-power power frequency test transformers, but also requires only 1/Q of the test capacity of the resonant excitation power supply, greatly reducing the weight and volume of the system, which is generally 1/3-1/5 of that of ordinary test devices.
4. Prevent large short circuits and calculate current burns to identify fault points. In the series resonance state, when the insulation of the sample is weak and breaks down, the circuit immediately loses resonance, and the loop current quickly drops to 1/Q of the normal test current. However, in parallel resonance or when conducting voltage withstand tests to study the working mode of transformers, the breakdown current can immediately start to rise by tens of times. Compared with the short-circuit current, the breakdown current differs by hundreds of times. Therefore, series resonance can effectively detect insulation weaknesses without the risk of large short-circuit currents burning out the fault point.
